Snyder Construction Group Staff Highlight: Dusty Emmert, President
Snyder Construction Group is a family-owned business. Our president, Dusty Emmert, has been a part of both our family and leadership team for nearly 20 years.
In today’s blog post, we’d like to share some background information on Dusty, and how his leadership plays a role in making Snyder Construction Group the successful business it is today.
Snyder Construction Group: Dusty’s Beginnings
Dusty has been around construction all his life--his father was a contractor and worked with Larry Snyder on various projects.
In 1997, Dusty went on a date with Lacy, Larry Snyder’s daughter, to a Sarcoxie football game, and the rest is history--they were married in 2001.
Dusty attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburgh, KS, and earned a Bachelor’s in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration. Dusty then went to work at a nationwide construction company where he began learning the ins and outs of the industry.
An opportunity opened up in 2002, in Snyder Construction Group (Then Larry Snyder & Company) in our dirt division (now dissolved), and Dusty saw a chance to reconnect with Lacy’s family business and grow his career.
Dusty has now been with Snyder Construction Group for 19 years and has served as our president since 2012. Dusty and Lacy Emmert are the owners of our company.

As President of Snyder Construction Group, Dusty manages our day-to-day operations. However, this doesn’t mean Dusty is “hands-off”--he is known for being accessible, down-to-earth, and is always available to support our crew at every level. Because he views and treats his staff as partners in running the business, he has cultivated a loyal and empowered team.
Dusty is described by his colleagues as calm-mannered, humble, and sincere. Skilled at conflict resolution, his goal is to always find common ground and move forward without placing blame.
Snyder Construction Group’s tagline is “Building Partnerships That Last”, and Dusty’s ability to grow and maintain relationships in our community has allowed that line to ring true. Dusty’s roots in the midwest are deep and widespread, and his connections with people play a vital role in the negotiated work that Snyder does on a daily basis.
Dusty Emmert’s leadership has provided a solid foundation for Snyder Construction Group to provide exceptional general contracting services for our community and is just one reason why over 70 percent of our business is for repeat customers.
